It is intended to meet numerous needs, such as books, clothes, shoes, toys, stationeries, and computers of the students in the schools of Eastern provinces by the campaign called “Hands towards East…” 3,000 staff working within the borders of the METU Technopolis are highly supporting this project in order to meet the needs of schools, which are determined by the Foundation for Supporting Modern Life.
Particularly the parties organized twice a year in the METU Technopolis are the events where the highest amounts of donations for the project are collected. However, donations from everyone willing are accepted by Teknopark A.Þ. throughout the year.
After all these donations are classified, they are shipped to the schools that really need them. We have received many grateful letters until today after these donations were sent, as in the following example:
"Hi, we have received the books you had sent to our school. I hereby would like to thank you and your friends a lot for these books. As long as there are sensitive people like you, we will continue to take great steps on this path to success. I also, if possible, would like to submit one more request: we desperately need story books, suitable for children, for our school (We no longer need any more encyclopedias). I also would be grateful, if you could send clothes, shoes, etc. (even used ones), i.e. things a poor child would need, for our kids here, since their financial conditions are not good enough to buy them.
